This review is based on straight outta the box, with minimal use... knife comes exactly as pictured, I don't care about the knife case but that's irrelevant... knife seems well made and sturdy, it's a little big for concealing in my hand ( I'm 28, plus sized, female, with slightly large hands for a girl), knife is very thick in my opinion, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the design on the blade but I like it it is minimally textured but I don't feel like it affects the knife, it is fairly sharp upon arrival with a small amount of effort it did shave a streak on my arm and my 11 year old nephew wanted to know if it'd cut a piece of paper that he held up in the air and it did, the knife does lock open ( a plus in my book) and my same nephew had to show me to push in the lock release at the bottom back of the handle, the grip is alright but again a little thick for my hand and I'm not overly comfortable with the positioning of the ' finger dents' I kinda feel like there a bit far apart and maybe a little shallow while still not providing the necessary length to comfortably place all 4 fingers... would I recommend this knife? Yes and no... I would recommend it to an adult male that is less than hard on their stuff, but I don't recommend it for anyone with smaller hands, therefore I personally wouldn't gift this knife to a female or adolescent, tho if there is a smaller version that would change my ability to recommend
