The weight, sharpness, and look of this knife are all on point. The Damascus finish is more of an after thought - it almost looks like it could be laser etching instead, but it still adds to the overall appeal. I use this knife regularly and highly recommend it.
Excellent product
It comes with a fairly low angle edge, which makes it too delicate for chopping bones or things like acorn squash. But for carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, things like that, it's perfect.I soon resharpened it to an even sharper angle. It cuts like a dream and holds the edge well. I'm careful with it, and no edge damage so far. If it had softer steel it would not do well as fine as an angle as it is. So I think it's pretty good steel.
This knife seems to have quality control issues. Mine has a crack down the spine right out of the box. Check yours over carefully before keeping. Looks and feels great otherwise.EDIT: They reached out and made it right. I changed to 5 stars for standing behind their product.
