For $17 this is a very good functional knife. I'm reading the bad reviews and appears those who gave it low scores didn't know what they were buying. It will rust and that is ok. If you want to avoid it rusting you will need to put a fine layer of canola oil on it after you are done using it. That is standard for all high carbon steels. This is a knife that is made to be used and cleaned and sharpened and used again. It will discolor, it will patina, but above all, it will work and it will last. The rust can be cleaned off, the blade can be sharpened. This knife is mean to be functional, not pretty. Some others have mentioned the knife handle is blocky...the knife handle is wood, if you find it uncomfortable you can sand it into the shape you desire. Overall, its a versatile functional knife.
I am confident with this knife in my possession. It never bends to the point of breaking. It arrived sharp enough to cut through bone in a minute.
Great knife. Use for cleaning redfish. Stays sharp. Just clean it off and apply mineral oil after use.
